Theatre Receptionist / Clerk – Perioperative Services

About the role

Join St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne as a Theatre Receptionist / Clerk within the Perioperative Services team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, surgeons and staff, delivering high‑quality customer service in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide front‑desk and telephone support to patients, visitors, VMO’s and staff.
• Coordinate theatre administration, manage the departmental diary and schedule appointments.
• Maintain accurate peri‑operative patient data, prosthesis codes and CMBS item numbers.
• Process medical observer requests, surgical assistant documentation and assist with roster input.
• Handle filing, archiving, report typing and presentation preparation.
• Manage locker allocations, departmental records and order stationery/medical supplies.
• Utilise hospital systems such as IBA, Riskman, BEIMS and other internal platforms.
• Support quality‑improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with infection control, WHS and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a healthcare clerical, administration or receptionist role.
• Strong customer‑service experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards.
