About the role
This temporary position is the front‑of‑house hub for a well‑established engineering organisation in Sydney or Melbourne. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring the reception area runs smoothly while supporting a friendly, social team.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a busy reception desk and greet visitors.
- Answer and direct calls using the Microsoft Teams phone system.
- Monitor and respond to the reception inbox, coordinating follow‑ups.
- Prepare meeting rooms, arrange catering and handle office supplies, including stationery and PPE.
- Maintain kitchen provisions such as coffee and milk.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, couriers and deliveries.
- Assist with credit‑card purchases and general administrative tasks.
- Provide ad‑hoc support to keep the front‑of‑house operations efficient.
Required profile
- Friendly, upbeat and confident with a natural people focus.
- Enjoys working in a collaborative, social team environment.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, able to take initiative without constant direction.
- Comfortable juggling multiple tasks during busy periods.
