Social Visit Volunteer - Residential Aged Care, Scone

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for volunteers to spend time with older people living in a residential care home in Scone. As a Social Visit Volunteer you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction, sharing whatever you enjoy with someone who enjoys it too.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with residents one-on-one or in small groups
• Share activities such as sport, art, pets, gardening, walking, yoga, baking, crafts, movies, music, coffee and crosswords
• Visit regularly to help improve quality of life and reduce isolation

Required profile

• 18 years or older
• NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
• Availability for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday, either weekly or fortnightly depending on availability
