Site Supervisor

About the role

Ventia is looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to lead day‑to‑day operations on a high‑profile environmental remediation project at Maralinga, South Australia. Reporting to the Project Manager and indirectly to the Site Superintendent, you will ensure that construction and maintenance works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all site operations and construction activities.
• Manage subcontractors, ensuring work complies with safety and specification requirements.
• Review and approve permits, work packs, methodologies, and risk assessments.
• Champion safety through pre‑start meetings, toolbox talks, and regular site inspections.
• Oversee high‑risk tasks such as excavation, confined‑space entry, and crane operations.
• Monitor progress, resources, and delivery against schedule and scope.
• Provide practical leadership and technical support to on‑site teams.
• Maintain accurate site records, reporting, and quality controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction or project environments, preferably in remote or FIFO settings.
• Proven background in environmental remediation and earthworks.
• Experience supervising high‑risk construction activities and managing subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of HSE, risk management, and quality systems.
• Resilient, accountable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
