Commercial Manager

About the role

Ventia is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support the delivery of the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project, a major transport infrastructure initiative in South Australia. The role provides strategic and operational commercial support, ensuring robust contract administration, governance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial guidance and advice to project teams on contractual matters.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies for claims, disputes and contract variations.
• Lead negotiations for significant variations, claims and commercial outcomes.
• Support continuous improvement of commercial policies, processes and contract administration.
• Identify, assess and manage contractual risks to ensure statutory and contractual compliance.
• Partner with operational teams to optimise commercial performance, minimise revenue leakage and control cost escalation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial or contract management within major infrastructure, construction or engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial risk management and claims handling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex commercial negotiations and resolve contractual issues.
• Sound understanding of construction contracts and commercial frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Collaborative leadership style focused on delivering value.
• Relevant qualifications such as Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or Engineering are highly regarded.
