Service Lead - Public Waste & Cleansing

About the role

A large progressive metropolitan council in Northern Sydney, which delivers environmental and public infrastructure services, is looking for an experienced leader to oversee its public waste and cleansing operations across a major local government area. The role provides leadership across a broad portfolio of waste and cleansing services, overseeing contractor performance, operational improvements, customer service outcomes and safe, efficient and compliant service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contract management and procurement activities
• Manage contractor performance and service delivery against KPIs
• Investigate and resolve customer requests, enquiries and complaints
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
• Engage stakeholders internally and externally
• Oversee WHS compliance, governance requirements and operational risk management
• Support technology improvements, system implementation and service optimisation projects
• Manage budgets and contribute to strategic business planning

Required profile

• Experience managing waste, cleansing, facilities, property, environmental or operational service contracts
• Strong contract management and project delivery experience
• Proven leadership and people management capability
• Experience driving business improvement and organisational change
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Sound understanding of WHS requirements and compliance frameworks
• Current NSW Class C driver's licence
