Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

The Senior Tax Accountant reports to the Tax Operations Manager and supports the Tax Services team with client deliverables, transitions and project work. The role focuses on preparing unit trust distributions, taxable income calculations, BAS returns and other tax reporting while helping to improve processes and templates.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely tax reporting deliverables.
• Prepare distribution calculations, superannuation fund tax calculations and tax returns.
• Create and review client reporting templates.
• Train and mentor junior tax accountants on unit trust and superannuation calculations.
• Maintain client tax profiles and security static data.
• Respond to client queries and ensure compliance with operational risk policies.
• Assist with project work, including testing of tax templates.
• Contribute to overall team deliverables and process improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline.
• Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA) with experience in tax accounting for financial instruments, trusts or superannuation funds.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, reporting and related operational risk and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to produce reconciliations using central accounting systems.
• Detail‑oriented with a results‑focused mindset.
