Senior Software Engineer: Full-Stack / Platform

About the role

Popfly builds the infrastructure for the creator economy, connecting brands with vetted creators and handling collaboration, payments, affiliate tracking and analytics. It is a fast-scaling startup moving from thousands to millions of users, and is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will become a technical co-leader, owning entire domains and architecting scalable solutions.

The role is split roughly as follows: 50% building systems, features and algorithms such as creator-brand matching, recommendation engines, analytics pipelines and real-time collaboration; 25% platform evolution including scaling architecture, monitoring and possible containerization and migrations; 25% technical co-leadership, including architectural decisions and guiding engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the lifecycle of features: problem framing, prototype, launch and post-launch iteration, and partner with product on success metrics for matching, recommendations and search quality.
• Design horizontal scaling strategies, optimize infrastructure performance and evaluate data architecture decisions.
• Own monitoring, observability and incident response infrastructure, and containerize applications for better resource management and deployment velocity.
• Guide the team through code reviews, architectural decisions and quality control, and make high-leverage decisions on microservices, refactoring and rewrites.
• Turn product and design visions into well-scoped specs, surface edge cases and trade-offs early, and bridge product and engineering.

Required profile

• 4-5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Fluency in algorithms, data structures and design patterns, with a data and experimentation mindset (metrics, A/B tests).
• Production platform and DevOps experience, cloud infrastructure knowledge, and technical leadership with strategic architectural decisions.
• Ability to write product specs and features, and a pragmatic startup mentality.
• Enthusiasm for AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
