General Manager Lending - Business & Private Banking Technology

About the role

ANZ Group Technology is recruiting a General Manager Lending for Business & Private Banking Technology, based in Melbourne or Brisbane. The role leads the technology strategy, delivery and operation of critical lending platforms that support customer growth through reliable, low-friction digital lending experiences. It is a permanent, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior business leaders to align technology priorities, roadmaps and investments with business objectives across the Business Lending value chain.
• Advise on technology opportunities, risks and investment decisions that drive customer and business outcomes.
• Own the strategy, governance, performance and lifecycle management of business-critical lending technology platforms.
• Lead delivery of technology initiatives, enhancements and operational outcomes across Business & Private Banking lending capabilities.
• Drive platform modernisation, simplification and continuous improvement to improve user and customer experience.
• Ensure technology services are secure, reliable, compliant and meet agreed service standards.
• Manage technology risk, governance, audit and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
• Build relationships with vendors, partners and senior stakeholders, and lead and develop a team of technology leaders.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading enterprise technology portfolios and teams in large, complex organisations, accountable for strategy, delivery and performance.
• Proven experience developing and delivering technology roadmaps, platform modernisation programs and large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing business-critical platforms in regulated environments, balancing innovation, stability, security and compliance.
• Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and technology partnerships.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications and relevant technology or delivery certifications are highly regarded.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of enterprise platforms, technology operations, governance frameworks and service management.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies and to engage senior leaders and C-suite stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
