Senior Software Engineer C++/AI

About the role

AOS Group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer C++/AI to join its software team in Melbourne (CBD/Carlton). The team builds the next generation of AI platforms and applications, competing with companies worldwide in robotics and intelligent systems. It combines top-down AI (intelligent software agents) with bottom-up deep learning and machine vision, and works with university collaborators.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor a dynamic, cross-disciplined agile team and provide software expertise.
• Design software systems using traditional OO and agent-oriented software engineering.
• Write high-quality C++ (17) code with documentation.
• Design and implement software agents in simulation and robotics.
• Help lead the team in deploying and testing prototype and production systems.
• Work closely with academics to implement the latest research.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Leadership capabilities, technical strength and a flair for innovation.
• Degree in a software engineering-related field.
• Australian citizenship, or eligibility for a National Security Clearance.
• Some domestic and international travel to customer sites and for testing and trials.
