Senior Project Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

Octopus Australia is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility‑scale renewable energy projects across Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. The role acts as the Owner’s Representative, overseeing projects from Financial Close through to Commercial Operations Date (COD) while ensuring safety, schedule, budget and technical objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of solar, wind and/or battery storage projects from Financial Close to COD.
• Administer EPC and major supply contracts, handling notices, variations, claims and obligations.
• Manage integrated schedules, critical paths, risks and issues, coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning and grid interfaces.
• Engage internal teams and external stakeholders (NSPs, advisors, contractors, investors) to secure decisions, approvals and information flow.
• Provide concise monthly reporting on progress, cost‑to‑complete, risks and mitigation plans; prepare governance and investor updates.
• Champion a safety‑first culture and drive continuous improvement in delivery practices.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of experience delivering utility‑scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, and/or BESS).
• Proven track record managing construction‑stage delivery of large‑scale projects, with wind experience highly regarded.
