Senior Maritime Engineer – Port & Infrastructure Projects

About the role

WSP is looking for a passionate maritime engineer to join its Transport & Infrastructure team in Sydney. You will work on innovative port, marine facility and intermodal transport projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to port planning, maritime master‑planning and FEED studies, including options assessment and concept development.
• Support the delivery of engineering studies such as design, analysis, reporting, specifications and contract documentation.
• Lead small to medium‑sized projects independently and manage defined work packages within larger, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Implement robust quality‑control processes to ensure deliverables meet scope, programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Assist work‑winning activities, including bid development, client engagement and project pricing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Approximately 4+ years of experience in maritime or coastal engineering.
• Experience in strategic planning and design of ports, harbours and marine infrastructure.
• Background in consulting or commercial engineering environments delivering client‑focused outcomes.
• Proven ability to lead workstreams or smaller projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proactive, ownership‑driven attitude.
