Senior Graphics and Illustration Specialist (12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Join Canva’s International Content team to lead the creation of locally relevant graphics and illustration content. This 12‑month fixed‑term position works hybrid from our Melbourne or Sydney campus, combining remote flexibility with collaborative on‑site days.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end production of graphics and illustration assets that resonate with regional audiences.
• Set visual direction, provide high‑quality craft feedback, and ensure assets meet Canva’s standards for quality, metadata and discoverability.
• Shape AI‑assisted workflows, from experimentation to publication, including AI‑generated content.
• Use data, search signals and market insights to identify content opportunities and translate strategy into clear creative priorities.
• Collaborate with regional, platform and operational teams to improve production processes.

Required profile

• Strong craft in graphics and illustration with the ability to guide and critique other creatives.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted production and data‑driven creative decision‑making.
• Curiosity about different cultures and a commitment to creating genuinely local content.
• Comfortable collaborating while taking ownership of your work.

Required skills

• Motion design skills (a plus).
