Senior Financial Accountant – Global SME

About the role

This senior finance position sits within a fast‑growing SME that sells internationally. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will act as the second‑in‑command, handling a wide range of accounting and commercial finance duties while supporting the company’s global expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare month‑end management accounts and financial reporting.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and month‑end journal entries.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for the CFO.
• Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, including AP/AR during peak periods.
• Manage foreign‑exchange (FX) transactions and overseas GST/VAT reporting.
• Handle payroll tax across multiple Australian states.
• Support year‑end audit requirements and drive continuous process improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Australian and international operations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA) or finalist.
• Significant commercial finance experience in a senior role.
• Proven ability to work hands‑on while taking ownership of month‑end reporting.
• Experience in a growing, internationally‑focused business is preferred.

Required skills

• SAP or other large ERP systems.
• Strong ERP proficiency.
