Senior Distribution Engineer

About the role

Egis is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer to join its Distribution Design team, delivering detailed design and documentation for energy projects across Victoria. The role involves overseeing overhead and underground distribution projects for low, high and sub‑transmission voltage networks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage small to medium‑scale projects and larger major projects, including design ownership, quality assurance reviews and approval of non‑standard designs.
• Produce and coordinate tender and design documentation, plan resources, and ensure delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, and act as liaison for assigned project phases.
• Prepare client reports, present project status, and manage financial performance.
• Contribute to safety‑in‑design workshops and promote engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Four‑year Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent).
• National Engineer Register (NER) or ability to attain; Registered Professional Engineer Victoria (RPEV) or ability to attain.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical distribution design, including overhead and underground projects.
• Knowledge of Victorian utility standards (AusNet, United Energy, Powercor, CitiPower, Jemena).

Required skills

• Proficiency with overhead line design software Neara and nPoles.
• Strong AutoCAD skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office Suite competence.
