Senior Data Engineer

About the role

intelia, an Australian-owned consulting business offering Data Analytics, Data Strategy & Governance, Cloud Solutions and Intelligent Automation, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer. You will develop data engineering solutions as the subject matter expert for large and complex data projects, working with industry-leading technology partners across the full data stack.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and define architectural and technical solutions that meet business, non-functional and strategic requirements
• Build deep subject matter knowledge across multiple data domains
• Lead and manage business, process and systems analysis on a small to medium scale within the client's business context
• Mentor and support a team of engineers
• Act as a strong link between the client, consultants and the business
• Solve problems proactively, researching and implementing solutions
• Keep documentation of data processes and assets coherent and up to date
• Deliver robust, scalable and maintainable solutions in an agile team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required profile

• Experience working on cloud platforms, preferably GCP
• Strong working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms, Databricks, Confluent, dbt, Collibra, Fivetran, SQL and Python
• Great communicator and confident presenter
• Understanding of commercial drivers that affect project solutions
