Senior Data and Analytics Engineer

About the role

The Senior Data and Analytics Engineer leads the design and delivery of scalable, end‑to‑end data and analytics solutions that drive strategic business outcomes. This senior technical authority shapes data architecture, engineering standards, and best practices while ensuring security, governance, and future readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into scalable data and analytics solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
• Design and oversee development of data models, pipelines, and visualisations using modern technologies.
• Establish and uphold best practices in data engineering, including architecture, performance, security, and governance.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to drive alignment, adoption, and value from data initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on data architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards across delivery teams.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering capability uplift and a strong data engineering culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience delivering end‑to‑end data engineering and analytics solutions in complex environments.
• Proven experience designing modern data architectures, including Lambda and Kappa patterns.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.

• SQL (T‑SQL)
• Databricks, PySpark
• Microsoft data stack: SQL Server, SSRS, Power BI
• Azure services: Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake, Synapse Analytics
• Streaming technologies: Apache Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Confluent, Apache Flink
• Data modelling (dimensional and semantic)
• Agile delivery experience
