GM Data & AI Platform

About the role

The GM – Data and AI Platforms leads the strategy, build and operation of ANZ's enterprise data and AI platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, high‑performing services that enable data‑driven decision‑making and AI innovation across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise Data and AI platform strategy and roadmap, aligning with business priorities.
• Deliver, operate and continuously improve shared data and AI platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability and performance.
• Provide and manage AI and Generative AI platforms for experimentation and production workloads, including MLOps capabilities.
• Ensure platforms meet regulatory, security, privacy and compliance requirements.
• Own platform financials, budgeting, forecasting and cost optimisation.
• Drive adoption of cloud‑native, automation and infrastructure‑as‑code engineering practices.
• Partner with AI Portfolio, Data, Architecture and business teams to align capabilities with demand.
• Build and lead a high‑performing platform engineering and operations team.

Required profile

• 15+ years of hands‑on enterprise deployment experience in financial services.
• Proven leadership in platform engineering, DevOps and cloud‑native practices.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to align platform capabilities with business needs.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, streaming).
• Experience with AI/ML and Generative AI platforms and MLOps.
• Cloud‑based architecture design and implementation.
• Security, privacy and regulatory compliance in banking environments.
• Platform engineering, DevOps and infrastructure‑as‑code.
