Senior Consultant – Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Tax Advisory team. You will work with a diverse portfolio of corporate, international and private clients, helping them navigate complex tax legislation and support their growth strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver income tax returns for companies, trusts and individuals across a broad client base.
• Provide tax‑focused advisory services on restructures, M&A, international expansion and other strategic initiatives.
• Support ATO reviews and audits by preparing technical responses and documentation.
• Address key income tax issues such as CGT rollovers, tax consolidation, tax loss utilisation, Division 7A, thin capitalisation and global entity structures.
• Develop and implement tax risk management and governance frameworks for businesses and groups.
• Conduct technical tax research and apply legislation and ATO guidance to client scenarios.
• Ensure high‑quality, accurate and timely delivery of all client work.
• Collaborate with managers and senior leaders to deliver integrated client outcomes.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts.
• Commercially minded, proactive and committed to delivering high‑quality client outcomes.
• Comfortable overseeing client‑ready deliverables, leading relationships and presenting to senior leadership.
• Experience in income tax compliance and advisory within a professional services or corporate environment.
• Proven ability to stay up‑to‑date with tax legislation, ATO guidance and relevant case law.
