Senior Consultant – Data Engineer

About the role

Altis is seeking a Senior Consultant – Data Engineer to design and deliver modern data and analytics solutions for clients in Melbourne. This hands‑on consulting position blends technical delivery with client engagement, allowing you to shape solutions from discovery through to production support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end data and analytics solutions, from requirements gathering to implementation and support.
• Collaborate with clients and Altis teams to translate business challenges into technical designs.
• Design and build data pipelines, data models, database structures and data stores.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and develop reports, dashboards and visualisations.
• Support testing, deployment, user acceptance testing and post‑production activities.
• Contribute to project planning, estimation and delivery scheduling.

Required profile

• Strong foundations in data and analytics with hands‑on delivery experience.
• Proven ability to work directly with clients and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience in testing, implementation and production support of data solutions.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL and data modelling capabilities.
• Experience with modern ETL/ELT approaches and data pipeline development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks and Google Cloud.
• Ability to create reporting, analytics and visualisation solutions.
