Senior Accountant / Finance Manager (Brisbane)

About the role

The client, an international industrial group, is establishing a new Australian subsidiary and seeks a Senior Accountant / Finance Manager to lead the local finance function. Reporting directly to the CFO for the Middle East and Asia‑Pacific region, you will be responsible for building robust financial processes, reporting, and budgeting for the Brisbane operation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement reporting tools for both local and group management.
• Improve and formalise finance and business processes, including optimisation of financial transactions and data reliability.
• Contribute to the enhancement of the accounting system, with a focus on Xero.
• Design an activity‑based costing analytical structure and lead budgeting, forecasting and medium‑term financial planning.
• Prepare monthly management reports, analyse performance variances and produce ad‑hoc financial analyses.
• Coordinate monthly, semi‑annual and annual closings, ensure proper accounting allocations and manage off‑balance‑sheet items.
• Maintain banking relationships, oversee cash management and support operational projects with business cases.

Required profile

• Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in audit, accounting, financial controlling or a similar finance role.
• Experience in an industrial environment or an international, multicultural group is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English; French is an asset.
• Strong analytical mindset, autonomous, rigorous and well‑organised.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Working knowledge of Xero.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
