Manager, Pre-Deal (Private Equity) – M&A Consulting Services

About the role

Join Deloitte’s M&A Consulting Services team to help leading organisations shape their future through strategic acquisitions and divestments. You will work across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane, providing pre‑deal strategy and diligence for private‑equity clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop inorganic growth strategies and options for clients.
• Design and articulate pre‑deal strategies, applying structured problem‑solving.
• Conduct due diligence, including financial analysis and market/target assessment.
• Assess commercial synergies and standalone costs of deals.
• Contribute to practice and business development through thought‑leadership and sales material creation.
• Coach junior staff on the M&A lifecycle and project management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification (e.g., CA, CFA, MBA).
• 5+ years advisory/consulting experience, preferably in a Big 4, strategy boutique, or corporate strategy function.
• Strong problem‑solving and structured thinking abilities.
• Comfort with analytical strategy tools and commercial/financial analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and team‑leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
