About the role
The Scholar Engagement Consultant will design and deliver up to two inclusive, culturally appropriate workshops for Papua New Guinea scholars studying in Australia. This short‑term advisory role supports Australia Awards PNG in strengthening leadership, networking, wellbeing and reintegration planning for scholars.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a needs assessment and review existing support programmes for scholars.
- Develop culturally appropriate, inclusive workshop curricula and resources.
- Facilitate up to two learner‑centred workshops across Australia.
- Collaborate with scholars, Australia Awards PNG, DFAT and other stakeholders.
- Embed GEDSI, safeguarding, wellbeing and accessibility considerations into all activities.
- Evaluate workshop outcomes and produce reports with lessons learned and recommendations.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in education, human‑resource development, international development or a related field.
- Proven experience designing and facilitating adult professional‑development workshops.
- Strong stakeholder‑engagement skills with scholars, institutions and government agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate GEDSI principles into learning activities.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness and availability to travel domestically within Australia.
