Senior Teaching Fellow – Doctor of Medicine Program

About the role

Join a leading rural medical education program at Deakin University and help shape the future medical workforce in South‑West Victoria. This part‑time, fixed‑term position supports high‑quality teaching for the Doctor of Medicine program across Hamilton‑Portland and Colac‑Camperdown zones.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver bedside tuition, face‑to‑face sessions and online learning activities for Deakin Medical School – Rural Communities.
• Apply clinical, industry and research expertise to enhance student engagement and learning resources.
• Collaborate with teaching teams to develop and refine curriculum, clinical education experiences and learning materials.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of units and courses, supporting innovative, learner‑centred, research‑informed teaching practices.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent qualification (e.g., Fellowship of a relevant College) in a relevant discipline.
• Medical graduate registered with AHPRA.
• Holder of FRACGP or FACRRM, or close to sitting the respective Fellowship examination.
• Proven record of scholarly teaching in undergraduate or postgraduate programs with evidence of innovative pedagogical approaches.
• Experience leading curriculum development and mentoring colleagues to improve teaching practices.
