Resident Medical Officer – Manning Base Hospital

About the role

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) position at Manning Base Hospital offers junior doctors the chance to develop a broad range of clinical skills in a rural setting. Over a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, you will work under supervision across inpatient and outpatient services, gaining exposure to multiple specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective medical care to patients in general medicine, emergency, anaesthetics, intensive care, palliative care, rehabilitation, oncology, general practice, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, surgery and urology.
• Participate in night and relief shifts, including duties at Wingham Community Hospital, on an equitable roster.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development throughout the rotation.

Required profile

• Qualified medical graduate with registration to practice in Australia.
• Strong commitment to rural health and community service.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to adapt to a variety of clinical environments and specialties.
