Relationship Manager – SME Banking

About the role

As a Relationship Manager in SME Banking, you will oversee a growth‑focused portfolio of small and medium‑sized enterprises, partnering with passionate business owners across diverse industries. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate their financial needs and positioning ANZ as a strategic partner in their growth journey.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and expand a portfolio of SME clients, focusing on proactive acquisition of new business.
• Develop deep insights into each client’s business, ambitions, and financial requirements.
• Offer the full suite of banking solutions to increase share of wallet and generate strategic referrals.
• Structure and negotiate credit facilities in collaboration with product and specialist teams.
• Monitor and manage credit and operational risks, applying relationship credit approval discretion where appropriate.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build long‑term customer relationships and maintain high satisfaction levels.
• Strong understanding of commercial mid‑market banking products and services.
• Experience assessing, advising on, and approving credit worthiness and risk.
• Capability to understand client business needs and deliver tailored financial solutions.
• Negotiation skills for credit facility terms and conditions.
