Registered Surveyor

About the role

The Registered Surveyor will lead statutory and technical surveying activities for safe, accurate underground mining operations at Moranbah North Mine. This role ensures survey information meets legislative, site and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and certify statutory mine plans and survey records.
• Maintain accurate underground and surface survey control.
• Plan, coordinate and execute underground survey activities for development, longwall, infrastructure and mine planning.
• Review survey results, identify discrepancies, hazards and operational risks.
• Provide technical advice to mining, engineering and operational teams.
• Oversee and authorise survey work performed by employees and contractors.
• Participate in incident investigations and conduct relevant surveys.

Required profile

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Surveying or Spatial Science.
• Current registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland and a mining endorsement for Queensland coal mining.
• Demonstrated experience in underground coal mine surveying and knowledge of Queensland mining legislation.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety and ability to work with technical and operational teams.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Competency using modern survey equipment.
• Proficiency with mine surveying software.
• Experience with underground survey control, traverses, set‑outs and development surveys.
