Geotechnical and Geology Superintendent

About the role

The Underground Geology & Geotechnical Superintendent will lead the geotechnical and geology function at Moranbah North, reporting to the Technical Services Manager. This senior position provides strategic technical advice to sustain and improve underground mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Geotechnical Engineers and Geologists.
• Coordinate collection, analysis and evaluation of geotechnical data and risk assessments.
• Manage underground strata in line with the Operations Management System.
• Provide strategic advice to Technical Services and Operations on maximizing operational value.
• Participate in improvement projects ensuring integrated, well‑planned geotechnical activities.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Mining Engineering or related field.
• Qualified Geotechnical Engineer; RPEQ registration desirable.
• Proven experience in underground coal mining.
• Strong strategic thinking, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
