Registered Nurse – Cardiology

About the role

Join a brand‑new Step‑Down Cardiology & Day Stay Unit at Macquarie University Hospital, delivering specialist cardiac nursing care in an 8‑bed monitored environment alongside leading cardiologists and electrophysiologists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to complex cardiac patients requiring haemodynamic and telemetry monitoring after advanced procedures.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage post‑procedural recovery for electrophysiology studies, ablations, pacemaker/ICD insertions, coronary angiography, PCI and other interventional cardiology procedures.
• Administer cardiac medications and infusions according to clinical guidelines and operate bedside monitoring equipment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during ward rounds, discharge planning and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent experience in a cardiology nursing environment caring for monitored cardiac patients.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and time‑management skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice.
