Registered Nurse – AOD (Mon–Fri) | No Shift Work

About the role

Healthcare Australia is seeking an experienced Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Registered Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team at the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. This full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday position offers a stable daytime schedule and a $4,000 sign‑on bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with drug and alcohol‑related needs.
• Develop, implement and review personalised care plans.
• Administer medications safely, including detoxification protocols when required.
• Provide education on harm reduction, relapse prevention and recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals, security staff and external services.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
• Either a postgraduate qualification in AOD with at least 5 years’ specialty experience, or a minimum of 7 years’ specialist AOD nursing experience.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, non‑judgemental approach.
• Experience in high‑security or detention settings is desirable.
