Registered Nurse – Angiography Unit

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will join the Angiography Unit at Macquarie University Hospital, delivering evidence‑based cardiac care in a state‑of‑the‑art, minimally invasive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic angiograms, PCI, pacemaker implants and structural heart disease interventions.
• Assess, plan and implement preventative and therapeutic care pre‑, intra‑ and post‑procedure.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac technicians and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient‑centred care.
• Mentor junior nursing staff and students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice aligned with the academic mission.
• Cross‑train in complementary roles such as Cath Lab Cardiac Technician once established.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Cath Lab, Angiography or cardiac nursing.
• Willingness to cross‑train in roles such as Cath Lab Cardiac Technician.
• Excellent communication and professional relationship skills.
• Strong computer literacy, including EMR systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.
