Quarry Operator – Afternoon Shift

About the role

Heidelberg Materials is hiring multiple Quarry, Fixed Plant and Process Operators for the afternoon shift at Byford Quarry, located 4 km south of Byford in the Perth Metro area. The role starts at 3:30 pm and runs for 10+ hour shifts, offering a stable full‑time position.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor crushing plant and associated mobile equipment safely and efficiently.
• Carry out routine plant inspections, preventative maintenance and general labour around the quarry.
• Assist with plant set‑up, calibration and shutdown procedures, including loader, articulated haul truck and skid‑steer operations.

Required profile

• Prior experience in fixed‑plant process, mobile crushing or screening operations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a proactive attitude toward plant maintenance.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and ability to work safely in a team environment.

Required skills

• Operation of mobile plant equipment such as loaders, excavators and dump trucks.
• Conducting plant inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Understanding of crushing plant controls and safety procedures.
