About the role

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a motivated Leading Hand Quarry Operator for its Byford Quarry plant near Perth. This permanent, onsite role offers a pathway to supervisory responsibilities and long‑term career development within a leading construction materials company.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a range of mobile plant including excavators, loaders, graders and dump trucks.
• Assist in training and mentoring less‑experienced quarry team members.
• Support quarry development and contribute to mine decision‑making processes.
• Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance activities.
• Work with site supervision to ensure safe, best‑practice extraction techniques.

Required profile

• Significant experience in quarrying, mining or similar extraction operations.
• Strong commitment to best‑practice mining techniques and safety.
• Proactive, team‑oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement.
