Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the project quality function for a major utility‑scale solar and battery energy storage development in Australia. Working closely with the Project Manager and Assurance & Compliance Manager, you will integrate contractual, client and company quality requirements into practical processes for the delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project quality plans, procedures and risk registers, ensuring all contractual and client requirements are captured.
• Oversee inspection and test plans, inspection records, materials testing and progressive close‑out of completed work packages.
• Lead audits of the project, subcontractors, suppliers and equipment manufacturers, managing non‑conformances and corrective actions to resolution.
• Mentor and manage quality personnel, support construction and engineering teams, and handle quality reporting and client interfaces.
• Drive defect close‑out and completion documentation, including test records, certificates, O&M manuals and updated drawings for commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• At least seven years of quality management experience within construction or EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and/or Lead Auditor certification.
• Experience implementing project quality systems, managing inspections, audits, non‑conformances and handover requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead quality personnel and work closely with clients, engineers, construction teams and suppliers.
• Electrical construction quality experience, ideally in renewables, substations or high‑voltage infrastructure.

Required skills

• ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Lead Auditor certification (or equivalent).
• Proficiency with Aconex, TeamBinder or similar project documentation systems.
