Public Area Attendant – Luxury Resort

About the role

As a Public Area Attendant at the InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef, you will ensure that all public and back‑of‑house areas of the luxury resort are clean, tidy and ready for guests. You will work closely with the Housekeeping team to deliver a seamless and memorable guest experience in a tropical island setting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of lobbies, corridors, lifts, restrooms, outdoor spaces, guest facilities and back‑of‑house areas.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, polishing, dusting, waste removal and replenishing supplies.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and service inquiries.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards or cleanliness concerns to the appropriate team.
• Assist with deep‑cleaning projects, event set‑ups and seasonal cleaning as required.
• Support the wider Housekeeping team during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel or similar environment (preferred).
• Positive attitude, strong eye for detail and pride in work.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, guest‑focused approach.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability, flexibility and willingness to assist across different areas.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift, bend and push housekeeping trolleys.
