Project Manager – Capital Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the delivery of capital infrastructure projects at the Port of Townsville. Working closely with internal teams, contractors and government agencies, you will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans covering timelines, budgets and resource allocation.
• Coordinate project activities, monitor progress and ensure adherence to established objectives.
• Conduct regular project meetings to communicate status, identify risks and adjust plans as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants and contractors for effective implementation.
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and regulatory bodies.
• Manage stakeholder expectations through regular updates and conflict resolution.
• Develop and monitor project budgets, implement cost‑control measures and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards and quality assurance processes.
• Identify project risks, develop risk‑management plans and proactively mitigate disruptions.
• Implement change‑management procedures for scope changes or unforeseen circumstances.
• Contribute to the Port’s strategic plans and promote a Zero Harm culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction/project management or a related field.
• Relevant project management professional qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Proven experience managing large‑scale infrastructure or construction projects.
