Project Controller

About the role

The Project Controller will ensure the financial health and successful delivery of Hitachi Energy projects in Brisbane. You will work closely with project managers and stakeholders to monitor budgets, forecasts, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, aligning them with scope and corporate financial objectives.
• Prepare and analyse financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Track actuals against budget and forecast, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Generate financial reports including profit & loss, cash flow projections, and cost‑to‑complete analyses.
• Collaborate with project managers to establish robust financial plans and KPIs.
• Perform financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and support audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in project controlling or financial analysis, preferably in a multinational or project‑based environment.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and financial accounting concepts.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
