Procurement Specialist – Mining Site Closure

About the role

We are partnering with a leading mining client to secure an experienced Procurement Specialist who will support the procurement function during the site closure phase of a remote operation. Based in Brisbane, you will work Monday to Friday, collaborating with both site and corporate stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective closure activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement for a diverse portfolio of goods and services.
• Partner with site teams to understand operational needs and develop sourcing strategies.
• Lead competitive sourcing events, conduct commercial evaluations, negotiate contracts, and finalize agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance, and commercial outcomes.
• Provide procurement advice while ensuring adherence to governance and standards.
• Support contract administration, reporting, spend analysis, and procurement planning.
• Identify opportunities to optimise cost, reduce risk, and enhance supply‑chain resilience.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management across goods and services.
• Strong capability in sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and commercial risk management.
• Proven ability to handle multiple procurement activities in a complex operational environment.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with sound commercial judgement.
• Collaborative approach with a focus on building trusted relationships.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• SAP or similar procurement system experience.
