Principal Electrical Digital Designer – BIM Lead

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a senior professional to lead Building Services digital delivery and BIM coordination for major projects across Buildings, Defence and Transport sectors in Adelaide. The role combines technical excellence with team leadership and national BIM strategy implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead BIM delivery and electrical services modelling on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects, ensuring compliance with national BIM standards and client requirements.
• Develop Digital Delivery Plans, BIM Execution Plans and model governance processes; coordinate federated models and manage design interfaces.
• Mentor and lead BIM Designers, support recruitment, capability assessments and onboarding of BIM staff.
• Participate in the national Buildings BIM network, promote resource sharing and contribute lessons learned.
• Integrate Global Delivery Service (GDS) resources and support adoption of automation, computational design and emerging digital tools.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Building Services BIM and digital delivery, preferably on Defence projects with Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Advanced Revit modelling across Building Services disciplines and strong understanding of multidisciplinary BIM coordination.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and stakeholder engagement skills.

Required skills

• Revit (advanced), Revizto, Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360.
• ISO 19650 information management principles.
• Model federation, clash detection, model auditing, QA and governance.
• Dynamo, scripting, automation or computational design (desirable).
• Electrical Services design knowledge (diploma‑level qualification preferred).
