Principal Commercial Broker

About the role

Marsh is seeking an experienced broker with a strong account management background to join its Commercial team in Melbourne. The role is hybrid, with at least three days a week spent in the office. It involves mid-market and high-end commercial clients, new business tenders and proposals, and designing and placing insurance programs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an existing portfolio of high-end commercial clients.
• Develop, pursue and convert new business to grow the mid-market and commercial portfolio through new logos and organic expansion.
• Onboard new clients and deliver on Marsh's value proposition with high-quality service.
• Build and maintain senior-level relationships with insurers and key revenue-generating accounts.
• Lead, plan and implement renewal and broking strategies to ensure strong account retention and defence.
• Participate actively in claim-related matters and track new business opportunities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial broking experience across general lines.
• Proven track record of producing new business and managing complex insurance programs.
• Strong market presence within General Insurance.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients and insurers.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of risks and insurance products across key industry sectors.
• Established new business network to generate and convert opportunities.
• Proactive, client-focused attitude and commitment to exceptional client service.
