Primary Systems Engineer – All Levels

About the role

Enervia is seeking motivated engineers to join its fast‑moving team designing high‑voltage power infrastructure. You will work on substations, transmission lines and renewable‑energy connection assets, applying data‑driven methods to solve complex engineering challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design substation configurations, busbar arrangements, and plant layouts.
• Size busbars and conductors, perform short‑circuit force calculations, and ensure clearances and insulation coordination.
• Develop earthing, lightning protection, EMF and corona studies.
• Specify HV equipment (transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators, reactive plant) and design HV cable systems.
• Carry out electrical design of transmission lines.
• Integrate BESS, solar and wind farm balance‑of‑plant components.
• Coordinate with civil, structural and secondary disciplines and support construction/commissioning.
• Identify and apply data‑driven tools to improve design efficiency.

Required profile

• Technologically minded with a curiosity for data, tools and first‑principles thinking.
• Motivated to learn new concepts, especially primary systems if not already experienced.
• Innovative approach to problem‑solving using technology, data and research.
• Committed to delivering high‑quality results and supporting Enervia’s objectives.
• Electrical or Power Engineering degree (or closely related) with a solid engineering foundation.
