Practice Manager for Dental Practice

About the role

Lead an established dental practice located on the James Cook University campus, driving performance and fostering a positive environment for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the practice team, building a positive and accountable culture.
• Take ownership of day‑to‑day operations and overall practice performance.
• Collaborate with clinicians to maintain efficient workflows and high standards of patient care.
• Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and drive initiatives that enhance the patient journey.
• Oversee administrative, compliance and operational requirements, including recruitment and performance management.

Required profile

• Previous practice management experience in a dental or healthcare setting.
• Strong people leadership with a track record of coaching and developing teams.
• Understanding of dental practice operations, KPIs and financial performance.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Experience using dental practice management software.
• Strong computer skills.
