Porter - Guest Experience Expert

About the role

Pier One Sydney Harbour is looking for a warm, proactive Porter to welcome guests and help them arrive smoothly. The role covers luggage assistance, valet parking and lobby presentation, and supports the Front Office team in delivering great service.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally, assist with luggage and give directions
• Deliver and retrieve luggage to and from guest rooms with care and efficiency
• Safely store guest belongings in the luggage room and handle group arrivals
• Assist with valet parking in line with Australian road regulations
• Maintain a clean, welcoming and well-presented lobby
• Explain room features and promote hotel services while delivering luggage
• Answer questions about hotel facilities and local attractions
• Support front office operations and complete handovers accurately
• Assist guests with disabilities in line with accessibility guidelines
• Report safety hazards or system issues and uphold grooming, conduct and safety standards
• Take part in training and departmental briefings
• Handle guest mail, messages and parcels; process payments following cash-handling procedures
• Keep guest and staff information confidential and contribute to upselling initiatives

Required profile

• Previous experience in a porter or guest services role preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Valid driver's licence
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
