Assistant Venue Manager - Hospitality Group

About the role

An established hospitality group is looking for an Assistant Venue Manager to join its Northern Beaches team in Sydney. Working closely with the General Manager, you will take a hands-on role leading shifts, supporting the team and keeping the venue running smoothly from relaxed daytime dining to busy evenings. The position suits someone with experience supervising a team in a busy restaurant, pub or bar, or a Supervisor or Duty Manager ready to move up.

Key responsibilities

• Lead organised, energetic shifts across the floor and bar
• Coach the team through service and help emerging leaders grow
• Support rostering and match staffing levels to trade
• Monitor wage costs, wastage and complimentary items
• Resolve guest concerns with warmth and practical solutions
• Keep venue presentation and service standards consistent
• Maintain clear communication between the floor, bar, kitchen and management
• Develop the team's food and beverage knowledge
• Uphold safe working practices throughout every shift

Required profile

• Experience supervising or managing a team in a busy hospitality environment
• An approachable leadership style and a confident presence on the floor
• Ability to prioritise, adapt and keep the team focused during busy periods
• Understanding of labour costs and efficient daily operations
• Genuine interest in food, drinks and memorable guest experiences
• Current NSW RSA
