Planning & Performance Analyst

About the role

Airbus Australia Pacific is looking for a Planning & Performance Analyst to join its Finance team in Brisbane, QLD. The role sits within the Planning & Performance team and acts as an independent, trusted business partner, delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, exploring cost drivers and giving strategic financial insight that supports operational planning and decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate forecasting and financial planning cycles for relevant functions and programs
• Deliver monthly performance reporting linked to key business drivers, helping drive profit, streamline costs and optimise working capital
• Support strategic financial advice on pricing and margin models for customer solutions and commercial decisions
• Drive process improvement by standardising, simplifying and automating financial planning and analysis processes
• Partner with stakeholders across the business and act as the first point of escalation for critical finance topics, flagging risks and opportunities

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years in a financial or management accounting role
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of financial accounting standards, reporting requirements, budget processes and internal control frameworks
• Ability to build financial assumptions, balance data-driven decisions with practical solutions and present findings clearly
• Eligible for an Australian Defence Force security clearance and able to meet pre-employment medical screening
• Analytical, curious and ethical, with a positive, continuous improvement mindset

Required skills

• High proficiency in SAP/ERP systems
• Desirable: CPA/CA membership, experience with EVM, VOWD and activity-based accounting, and experience with performance-based contracts and pricing strategy
