Investment Analyst

About the role

EWM Group, Australia's first independent multi-family office, is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its investment team in Brisbane. Working closely with senior investment professionals, the analyst contributes to investment research, opportunity assessment, portfolio construction and ongoing investment management across a broad range of asset classes, from listed equities and fixed income to private equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate and alternatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental research, financial analysis and valuation of investment opportunities across public and private markets, assessing return drivers, risks and investment merits.
• Assist in due diligence on direct investments, external fund managers and investment strategies, including financial modelling, performance analysis and assessment of structures and terms.
• Support portfolio construction, asset allocation and ongoing monitoring, analysing performance, exposures, risk and liquidity.
• Prepare investment papers, research reports, financial models and presentations for investment discussions.
• Monitor global markets, macroeconomic developments and industry trends, and review existing investments and manager performance.
• Engage with investment managers, fund managers and advisers, and communicate insights and portfolio updates to clients.

Required profile

• Ideally 2-3 years' experience in investment management, funds management, investment banking, corporate finance, equity or credit research, private wealth or a related analytical role.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Accounting or another relevant quantitative discipline.
• Strong financial analysis, valuation and modelling capability; good understanding of financial markets, investment principles and the risk-return relationship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, professional integrity, discretion and a collaborative approach.
