Pharmacist Intern – Toowoomba Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

Join Darling Downs Health as a Pharmacist Intern and gain hands‑on experience in a regional hospital pharmacy. You will work alongside experienced pharmacists, developing clinical, dispensing and medication‑management skills while contributing to safe patient care across the Toowoomba region.

Key responsibilities

• Support the safe and timely supply of medicines to in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medication use and improve health outcomes.
• Conduct medication reviews and provide patient education under supervision.
• Participate in quality‑improvement and education initiatives that enhance pharmacy services.
• Engage in structured training and clinical mentorship programmes.

Required profile

• Eligibility for registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA) and an approved pharmacy qualification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients and health‑care teams.
• Sound clinical knowledge and a commitment to safe, quality use of medicines.
• Collaborative mindset, willingness to learn and ability to work responsibly in a supportive team environment.
• Experience in hospital, regional or rural health settings or a demonstrated interest in quality improvement, education or research is advantageous.
