Pharmacist – Formulary & Medicines Strategy

About the role

The Pharmacist – Formulary & Medicines Strategy supports the Senior Pharmacist in developing and implementing Eastern Health’s medicines formulary and strategy. This full‑time position works across the Eastern Health network to ensure safe, effective, equitable and financially sustainable access to medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in formulary decisions, medicine shortage management and alternative sourcing.
• Monitor medicine use, expenditure and coordinate medicines access programmes.
• Collaborate with pharmacy leaders, clinical services, procurement and other stakeholders on evaluation and utilisation projects.
• Take delegated responsibility for specific projects and operational activities within the portfolio.

Required profile

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA.
• Understanding of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
• High‑level communication and interpersonal skills with consumers, families and health professionals.
• Ability to work under pressure, set priorities and maintain strong organisational skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in peer‑review activities.

Required skills

• Proficient computer and data‑management skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
