About the role

Join the dynamic kitchen brigade at Novotel Surfers Paradise as a Part‑Time Demi Chef. You will help create memorable dining experiences for hotel guests and event attendees.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and presenting high‑quality dishes while maintaining consistency and standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie and broader kitchen team in daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS regulations.
• Manage stock rotation, minimise waste and maintain a clean, organised work environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Demi Chef in a hotel, restaurant or high‑volume kitchen.
• Relevant culinary qualifications.
• Experience with conference, events, banquets and high‑volume buffet breakfast operations is highly desired.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and flexibility to work rotating roster including weekends, public holidays and evenings.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
