Occupational Therapist – Full‑Time Permanent Roles (Australia Wide, Visa Sponsorship)

About the role
We are seeking qualified Occupational Therapists registered (or registrable) with the Health Professions Council of South Africa to join Australia’s healthcare system on a full‑time permanent basis. These positions are available across metropolitan, regional and rural locations and include visa sponsorship and a clear pathway to permanent residency.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial needs using evidence‑based tools.
- Design and deliver personalised therapy programmes that enhance participation in self‑care, work, education and community activities.
- Recommend and implement home or workplace modifications, adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physiotherapists, physicians and NDIS coordinators—to review outcomes and refine interventions.
- Educate clients, families and carers on strategies, exercises and equipment for long‑term independence.
- Provide services in a variety of settings such as community health centres, hospitals, private practice or NDIS‑funded programs.
Required profile
- Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification from a South African university (WFOT‑accredited programmes preferred).
- Eligibility for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (current registration is an advantage).
- Minimum three years of post‑qualification clinical experience in settings such as hospitals, community health, paediatrics, mental health or rehabilitation.
- Strong English language proficiency.
Required skills
- Proficiency with evidence‑based OT assessment tools.
- Ability to design client‑centred therapy programmes.
- Knowledge of adaptive equipment selection and environmental modifications.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Effective client and caregiver education techniques.
